Well I painted the hives. I kind of wanted to see if I could get by with just linseed oiling them but I don't think they'll make it through too many winters that way. So I got a gallon of paint for $30 off kijiji (which is a fair bit cheaper than store bought) and slapped on a coat. Now I need bees eh.
